Snow Shoeing

We went up Lamb's Canyon today.  What a cold rainy/snowy day! What a beautiful land!
Up go Ben & Steph.  Me right behind!
Me styling my cute pink winter gear!
We went past lots of pretty cabins like this one!
We stopped at this one to look at for a client of Ben's.
Ben & I having a fun winter hike together!
Me, Stephanie, and Ben.  We had a great afternoon snow shoeing!  Have you ever gone before?  It is quite a work out!  We did 3.5 miles in 2.5 hours!

Day #64

I needed a mental sick day today.  So I stayed home and slept in, cleaned my house, did laundry, and went with Ben & our friend Stephanie (Ben's co-worker) snow shoeing.

So, here's me today, "resting" and regrouping my brain:

I wore my snow bib overalls, my pink winter coat, my gray & pink beanie, my white mittens, and lots of thermals & warm wicking layers!  What a good afternoon!

Then home to rest, eat dinner, take a bubble bath with a mug of hot chocolate (much needed on my day of rest & after being out in the cold snow) and to a church meeting.

Now for early bed!  Oh how I love my bed!

So I wore my new red floral skirt from DI, white tights, red shoes, red tank top, white t-shirt, red cardigan, white watch, red bracelet, white heart ring, red necklace, white ball earrings, and my hair is half up and half down curly!

Wood Burning Stove

Out with the old and in with the new.

We had a box first.
Then he unpacked it.

Then he got our neighbor to help him move it into place.

Switching to the new.

Now here's what it looks like:

So far, we are nice and toasty!

December 1, Part 2: Nettina's Birthday

Nettina turned 25 today!  Welcome to the Quarter of a Century Club!

At the table we have, Ben's eye, Kent, Michelle, Jonathan, Tanya, Jared, Nettina, Melanie, Matt and then there's me taking the picture, not pictured, but I was there! ;-)  Costa Vida had some tasty eats for us that night!

Then we smiled for candid shots!

Jared helped light the candles!
The birthday girl in her styling sash.  And the two of us.  I'm still in my wedding attire since I came straight to her party from the wedding!

Eating the yummy cake!

Happy brother & sister moment.  Thanks for smiling in the 50th shot this time, Jonathan!  LOL!

3 of 5 siblings all together & very happy indeed!  Life is good!

Instead of Birthday spanks, we give birthday giggles & laughter.  It is so easy to get Nettina laughing hard enough that she starts crying!  Silly moments are so memorable!

Overall, Happy Birthday Nettina!  We all love you!!!  Always have & always will!

December 1, Part 1: Wedding Day!

The wedding ceremony! Ben was an amazing husband (yet again) and held his hand out the entire time recording it all on film!
Ben & I looking sharp in our wedding attire!
Me & Jamie, the unofficial bridesmaids!
On Tara & Guy's display table, she put out the TMNT t-shirts that we matched and wore together for Halloween at school!
The idea for the gifts they received was to place them under all the trees and it looked so cute!  It wasn't a Christmas themed wedding, it was a winter wonderland theme!
Here's the table center pieces.  A stand glued onto a plate, spray painted, pick up pine & pine cones, add them on, then put on a glass with fake snow and an electric tea light candle in it with a snowflake that is held up because it touches both sides of the glass!  So cute and all for under $5 times 6, 1 for each table!
Their pretty wonderland rice crispy cake! And her bouquet is off to the right side!  So pretty!
Only my BFF would let me capture her like this on her wedding day!  Yes, she did eat and was happy to do so!  Let me tell you about her attire: She wore a yellow ribbon in her hair for her husband, a soldier.  There's a poem that goes along with this idea:
She Wore a Yellow Ribbon Cadence
Around her neck She wore a yellow ribbon,
She wore it in the springtime And in the month of May.

And if you asked her Why the heck she wore it,
She'd say It's for my young Soldier Who is far, far away.

Far away!
Far away!
She wore it for her Soldier so far, far away.

Around the block she pushed a baby carriage
She pushed it in the springtime And in the month of May.

And if you asked her Why the heck she did it,
She'd say It's for my young Soldier Who is far, far away.

Far away!
Far away!
She pushed it for her Soldier so far, far away.

Around her thigh she wore a yellow garter. . .
She wore it in the springtime And in the month of May.

And if you asked her Why the heck she wore it,
She'd say It's for my young Soldier Who is far, far away.

Far away!
Far away!
She wore it for her Soldier so far, far away.

Behind the door her daddy kept his shotgun. . .
He kept it in the springtime And in the month of May.

And if you asked her Why the heck he kept it,
He'd say It's for a young Soldier Who is far, far away.

Far away!
Far away!
He kept it for a Soldier so far, far away.

And in the church the preacher kept a license. . .
He kept it in the springtime And in the month of May.

And if you asked her Why the heck he kept it,
He'd say It's for a young Soldier Who is far, far away.

Far away!
Far away!
He kept it for a Soldier so far, far away.

So, she also had her seamstress (not me this time) sew navy blue around the edges & sleeves.  It looks great!
So the picture above is the 3 of us.  Bride=Tara, me, and Jamie!
Tara & Guy dancing!
Jamie & I helped ourselves to his car and decorated the entire thing with crete paper!  The cousins of Guy were writing "Just Married" and other fun things on the windows.
Wouldn't you love to see your car like this after your wedding?  Some people go all kinds of crazy.  We thought this covered it, but was also very reasonable!
My favorite picture of the night is of the 4 of us!  Ben, me, Tara, and Guy!  What a happy bunch of friends we are!  I'm sure gonna miss them when they move for Guy's training!  Congrats!

December 1, 2012

Today's post is a date.  For 2 very special ladies in my life.

First, my sweet sister, Nettina, turns 25 today!  Hooray for getting older... I think?  I am so happy to have my sister live close to me!  She's a great gal, sister, wife, boss, and mother!

Second, to my best friend, Tara, it is her wedding day today!  She is going to make a beautiful bride!  She, Jamie and I spent all last night at her place (therefore my Friday outfit picture was taken in her room) getting her packed, ready for the day, the honeymoon, and moving her to North Carolina with her soon to be husband!

So if you dont hear from me, I'll be in southern po-dunk Utah with no cellular reception on my phone for the wedding & reception, then I'll be in Utah for a fun birthday dinner & celebration!  Good luck my lovely ladies!

Speedy Delivery

What do you get when Home Depot calls to say they're delivering your order?  ...The royal treatment!

We got a call yesterday at 8 am saying they were on our way with our order.  I was expecting a truck with some of our purchases in it...  nope!

Here is what I saw this morning before work: A semi truck bed full of stuff, and all of it is OURS!

So they took down the fork lift and set down each pallet of stuff right where Ben wanted it.  They even placed some all the way in the back yard, while the others went into the garage.

Here's to Ben who has a lot of work projects ahead of him!

Getting married?

Bachelorette Party!!!

Take your best friend, dress her up with a tiara and a feathered boa!

Grab all her other friends and invite them to come as well! We went to Tepanyaki.  Above is Tara & Jamie.  Below is Tara & Christina!

Here is the lovely Bachelorette showing off her crown and royal scepter.

She was skeptical about some of her gifts!

The restaurant uses this little "Japanese Fireman" to put out the fire on the grill while they're cooking the food in front of you.  Tara is pictured here with the little fireman and his pants... DOWN!  Ahh, dont tell her fiance!

Such a fun night with 4 great friends!  We love you Tara!

Day #62

Sorry for the Saturday AM Post, but I didn't get home until midnight and then I fell right asleep.  I did at least take some pictures while I was out and busy.

I wore my animal print shirt, black belt, dark blue skinny jeans, and black boots.  I also wore my long hoop necklace, hoop earrings and my white bracelet.  My nails are blue!

I did my hair in 4 pony tails that I flipped under and into the next one.  I think it was fun!
