Welcome to our little girl!

Emilia Bowman.

Well, there's lots I can say about having a baby, but I dont know how much time I have and I already wrote it down in my journal, so I'll just share some things.

I started contractions Monday night and they didnt stop.  We were 36 weeks and 6 days.  I got admitted to the hospital Tuesday night.  And by Wednesday morning I had a baby girl!  I couldn't have done it without my push & life coach, Benjamin!  He was my ROCK!

Emilia was 6 lbs 13 oz, 20.5 inches long and born at 5:32 am.

So off we went to the Postpartum recovery room.

We had lots of family visitors and fun times!

It is tradition in my family to have a "birth"day party at the hospital on the day of the baby's birth, so my siblings came to celebrate!  Cake, balloons, candy, party hats, banners and streamers!

Nana & Papa came to visit earlier, so did Isaac, and my sister Nettina and brother Jonathan are in the pictures during the birthday celebration.  Grandmom came the day after!  :)  Lots of love for this little girl!

Then we all had showers.  Emilia had her bath and then bed!

We can't believe it happened today!  She was exactly 37 weeks and full term.  Now we are full time parents!  The picture below was after her bath.  We enjoyed sitting and watching it happen!

A week ago, Ben planted an agave seed for Emilia and on her birthday, it came up.  What sweet timing!  It means a lot to us, so I am blogging about it! Lots of new life!

We got the ok to go home so we packed up and headed out on Friday!

Balloons and a sign welcomed us at home!  Beans was also so excited to see us and meet her!

Being home is an adjustment.  So far so good!  We have Ben's parents and my mom on hand to help!  We couldn't do it without them!!

Day #97-100

First off, what a fun warm weekend we had!  What a lovely day to just sit outside! Yes, shorts & short sleeved shirts in the middle of winter!

We also had family & maternity photos taken this weekend.  Here's a few of our favorites!

So being the week leading up to Valentine's, I tried to wear as much pink, red and white as I could.

I didn't have any students on this day because of parent teacher conferences, so to the conferences I wore:

a nice dress and an emerald green shirt!

Thursday:

Today was stop in and say hi to Ben at work after another baby doc appointment day.  I wore pink & white today!  At school it was our Valentine's Day party and they threw me a mini baby shower!  Oh what a fun day!  Then I finished up some more conferences, and now I am home to enjoy my 4 day weekend! 

Although will I be relaxing?  No!  I have a list of things to get done.  Nothing too big on my to do list, just little things here and there!!

Days #92-96

This week was Red/White Ribbon Week.  Aka be healthy and dont do drugs!  Every day we were asked to dress up/wear different things.

Monday: Wear boots.

Tuesday: Wear red & white.

This pic was taken outside of Ben's work after a baby doctor visit.  I always go see him and give him the stats in 10 minutes or less.

Wednesday: Super hero day &/or School shirt.

I wore a cape and my school shirt!  I'm a super hero teacher!!

Thursday: Crazy hair day &/or crazy sock day.
I skipped today and spent the day running around SLC doing errands and preparing for baby.  Who can relax on their day off when you have one month left?!?! AHHH!

Friday: Team jersey or sports shirt day.

I borrowed Ben's Utes shirt (mine is too tiny now to fit).  Also, it is always crazy sock day for me! My favorite thing is to buy colored socks and wear them mis-matched!  Heheh it is so much fun!

My second baby shower

I had a fun family & friends baby shower at my house this past Saturday!  It was sunny and bright and such a happy get-together!

All my friends and family focusing on winning some cool games, some such as The Price is Right, how well do you know Melissa or Ben, guess the belly size, and book quotes.  We also wrote sweet notes to baby girl and wrote silly notes on diapers.

I got lots of wonderful gifts for the princess and even some things for me!

I'm glad Tara could make it!

And I'm glad my sister hosted such a fun shower!

What a fun time I had!!  Thank you everyone, I love you! I can't wait for this baby girl to know the wonderful friends & family I have too!
